1.1. Aims of the course

Make an original academic work, performed individually and related to the Architectural Project and its Technique.

1.2. Context and importance of this course in the degree

The Undergraduate Dissertation must conceive, plan and develop an academic work to reflect, analyze and present creatively and critically a matter within the architectural design and its technique, in accordance with the itinerary that develops in the Curriculum "Design and Construction ".

1.3. Recommendations to take this course

Student must meet the requirements of the rules of Undergraduate Dissertation of the University of Zaragoza and EINA.

2.1. Competences

C.E. 111.OB   Preparation, presentation and defense before a University Tribunal of an original academic work, performed individually and related to the Architectural Project and its Technique.

2.2. Learning goals

Student must be capable of elaborate, present and defend individually, an original exercise of academic research in the field of architectural design and technique as a demonstration and synthesis of transversal and specific skills acquired in the teaching of architecture. The student may expose correctly in Spanish, or in English, a coherent summary of the work done.

2.3. Importance of learning goals

The course and the relevance of its results is high, since it involves the demonstration of skills acquired throughout the Degree.

 

3.1. Assessment tasks (description of tasks, marking system and assessment criteria)

Specific evaluation criteria, considering the variety of possible Undergraduate Dissertations, considered in the proper ratio:

 

- Writing, clarity and coherence.

- Structure, adequacy and validity of the work performed.

- Definition and relationship between the used concepts.

- Foundation, analysis of the issue and the development of its theoretical framework.

- Methodological application, consistency with the architectural issue studied.

- Analysis of results and conclusions reached.

- References and Bibliography

 

4.1. Methodological overview

The student must agree with the Director on the research topic for the project and its activities. The Undergraduate Dissertation will focus on a topic related to architectural design and its technique. This work involves an estimated 6 ECTS credits: 150 hours of work.

4.2. Learning tasks

Several tutorials will take place in order to keep track of the activities, work and to help students achieve the expected results.

4.3. Syllabus

The development of the Undergraduate Dissertation will be agreed between the student and thedirector, according to the issue and goals.

4.4. Course planning and calendar

Planning of the Undergraduate Dissertation will be agreed between student and director, according to the issue and goals.

 

The activities of the Undergraduate Dissertation must be agreed with the director or directors. These activities should take into account the deadlines for the project set out in the Regulations of the University of Zaragoza. The Undergraduate Dissertation proposal must be approved by the Academic Degree Commission.
